Rabbi Melissa Zalkin Stollman, serves as Congregation Kol Tikvah’s Director of Lifelong Learning. Rabbi Stollman recently came to Parkland, Florida five years ago from New York City after serving her alma mater, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion as the Program Coordinator of the Certificate in Jewish Education for Adolescents and Emerging Adults. Rabbi Stollman received Rabbinic Ordination from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York in May 2010. In 2008, she also received her Master’s Degree in Religious Education as part of a Mandel Fellowship. While in school, Melissa served as a rabbinic intern for Larchmont Temple, Larchmont, NY and Temple Sinai in Roslyn, NY. Prior to working at HUC-JIR she served as CLAL’s Development Manager and as the Program Associate at MAKOM, with the Jewish Agency for Israel. Rabbi Stollman has extensive experience working for the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) and its affiliates such as the Association of Reform Zionists of America (ARZA) and the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY). Prior to rabbinical school and during, Rabbi Stollman led several KESHER Birthright Israel trips and traveled with NFTY-EIE and NFTY in Israel as a music and worship leader. Rabbi Stollman also has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston University. Upon graduation she entered the development field fundraising for organizations such as Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Boston, Jewish Family & Children's Service (Boston), and the URJ. She is a proud graduate of the University of Florida and is happy to have returned to her home state. Rabbi Stollman serves as a board member of the Association of Reform Jewish Educators and in her free time enjoys singing and strumming her guitar, playing mah jongg, and spending time with her husband, David, and their three children.
