ברוכים הבאים

B’RUCHIM HABA-IM!

Welcome to Cincinnati and the 130th Annual CCAR Convention!

On behalf of the program committee, CCAR leadership and staff, we welcome you to Cincinnati and CCAR’s 130th Annual Convention.

We are thrilled that you are here and look forward to an incredible few days filled with learning, inspiration, and renewal, as we build our rabbinic skills to respond to the many challenges facing our communities and our lives. This Convention will be filled with celebration as we honor Isaac Mayer Wise’s 200th birthday, the 130th birthday of the CCAR, and the transition of our conference’s leadership.

We are excited to learn from the incredible presenters and teachers as we pray at Isaac Mayer Wise Temple, learn at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and engage with the Cincinnati community. There will be special plenary sessions on innovation, social justice, societal change, and the legacies of our leadership—both past and present—followed by workshop intensives continuing the same themes. Our Convention promises to address the very real-time needs of rabbis and the diverse communities we serve. We hope you will find meaningful opportunities to enrich your      rabbinate and guide you in the work that you do.

During our many hafsakot, we invite you to visit the exhibit area; sit down for a cup of coffee with friends; continue a conversation that started in a workshop; or meet a CCAR board member.

Thank you for being here. Please come up and say hi or introduce yourself! Our Convention will serve to catalyze each of us as individuals and as a rabbinic community to make an impact in our lives and our world.

L’shalom,
